b'Julia Rehwald talks the "Fear Street" trilogy, her college experience in NYC, and shares an embarrassing audition story for one of the most popular Broadway musicals!\\nAbout Julia Rehwald:\\nStar on the rise Julia Rehwald was born and raised in California. Having always known she wanted to be a performer, Julia participated in plays in high school. Post-graduation, Julia packed her bags and made the cross-country move to NYC to study acting at Tisch. Once in New York, Julia signed with a commercial agent who secured her first audition for an IKEA commercial, which she booked. Julia continued the rigorous program at the Tisch School of Arts, including a semester abroad studying at the Royal Academy in London. There, Julia learned useful acting techniques and focused on Shakespeare. Julia returned to New York and graduated a semester early and immediately began auditioning for film and TV.\\xa0\\nOne of the first films Julia booked was \\u201cFear Street,\\u201d the film adaptation of R.L. Stine\\u2019s YA horror series. Netflix brings the trilogy to the streaming platform in July in which Julia can be seen in two of the films: parts one and three. Each \\u201cFear Street\\u201d film has a different perspective and story. First, Julia stars as Kate in \\u201cFear Street Part One: 1994,\\u201d a story about love and friendship, and is a homage to the horror/adventure genre like \\u201cThe Goonies.\\u201d The film centers on teens living in Shadyside, a bad part of town that is cursed by a witch. Julia\\u2019s character of Kate is a confident overachiever, who is head cheerleader and valedictorian. Her main goal is to be successful enough to get out of the town. Her character really cares about her friends and doesn\\u2019t care for people outside of her inner circle.\\xa0\\n\\u201cFear Street Part Three: 1666,\\u201d is a story about love between sisters. Julia plays the role of Lizzy - the spunky fun one who always wants to get everyone together to party and is always down to have a good time. Lizzy is the only one in the group who has gone to visit the town outcast, who everyone thinks is the witch. Filming was an incredible and unforgettable experience and Julia made lifelong friendships with the other cast members. Half Filipino, her family and their culture are very important to her and she looks forward to going back to visit some of her mom\\u2019s family in the Philippines soon.
