In the last 10 years we have seen an acceleration in the business category of social entrepreneurship. What is social entrepreneurship? It’s doing business with a goal to affect a global problem. It’s incorporating the selling process to include a portion of sales to be given to solve that global problem. Tom’s Shoes is one of our best examples of this. The founder was overseas when playing polo when next door was an orphanage that he discovered many of the children did not have shoes. The idea was birthed to start a shoe company and give one pair of shoes to kids when anyone buys a pair of shoes. This became a huge success story. Alovea is a Social Business. It was birthed by Sam Caster, an entrepreneur who has a heart for kids. Sam has developed an innovative product using the ingredient from the aloe plant (acemannan) to be put in a supplement designed to support your immune system, something very needed right now in this global pandemic. This led to several other products serving the health need of all individuals. Over 130 million kids have benefited from their global initiative.
