TG Geeks Webcast Episode 119

Published: May 29, 2017, 11:05 a.m.

It's the end of Phoenix Comicon 17 and we have our wrap-up of the entire event. Chuck Tomasi of the Technorama Podcast joins in on the conversation where in our first segment we discuss the myriad of things we each participated in, as well as the incident that saw an increase in Security at the convention. We follow it up with our birthdays along with some "bumper fun," and in our second segment we cover all of the films we saw at the various blocks that are all part of the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival. Because of the enormous amount of content we had to cover this episode turned out to be longer than most. As always we welcome your feedback, so please let us know what you think. Good or bad, we want to know. Thank you for listening, we really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to spend with us. In desperation, the businessman turns to a blind psychic who can see through the killer’s eyes. The psychic envisions the night of the kidnapping and provides vital clues to help solve the mystery… but the answers he seeks may come at a deadly price."   More thriller than horror... A bit predictable regarding who the kidnapper is. However the storytelling was very creepy and quite suspenseful!   SPELL CLAIRE Director: Greg Emetaz   United States, 8min "Claire purchases an antique educational toy that reignites fond memories from childhood and lays bare the sorry state her life is now in."   When a person goes a little wild with her classic toys, the toys strike back. This could almost be regarded as an adult version of Toy Story. Eerily fun   VEXED Director: Marc Cartwright United States, 13min "A romantic date night goes horribly wrong when a couple questions the validity of horror film plots."   Fun self-deprecating film about horror film clichés and what really scares you. Great when a movie can make you jump and laugh at the same time.   2AM Director: Huseyin Hassan Australia, 16min "A middle aged man Alex awakens in his quarters to find a white rabbit beside his bed who then suddenly hops through a closed door. Alex gets up and leaves his room to follow the rabbit. Once he opens the door and steps out into the hallways of the asylum very unusual and supernatural events begurin to unfold right in front of OUR eyes."   Night Gallery like tale that could have been the story of how Lewis Carroll came up with Alice In Wonderland. This is another first person POV. It has a very nightmarish approach dealing with insanity.   Nibble Director: Jason Bynum Buff United States, 3min "A young woman wakes in the middle of the night to find strange bite marks on her leg."   Not your typical monster film as it was just too short. It needs to be longer in order to more fully flesh out the threat.
