For eight years, climate change activists lobbied President Obama to address global warming with everything from stronger regulations on greenhouse gases to rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline. The efforts often, if not always, succeeded. But under the Trump Administration, they have all but given up on changing the president's mind. Instead, they're refocusing their efforts on cities and states, hoping to make global warming a local issue. Tom Harris, the Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition, will join me to talk about it. Standing on the front steps of First Congregational Church of Oakland late last month, Nichola Torbett issued a declaration. "We can no longer tolerate the trauma inflicted on our communities by policing," Torbett, a white church volunteer, said in front of churchgoers who held photos of African Americans shot dead by law enforcement. The church, she promised, would never call the cops again in nearly every circumstance. Dozens of members had agreed to do the same. Doug Giles, author of the new book, Rules for Radical Christians: 10 Biblical Disciplines for Influential Believers. Founder and Editor of Clash Daily will join me to discuss it And Dr. Michael Busler, Ph.D., a public policy analyst, economics expert and a professor of finance at Stockton University in New Jersey will join me to talk about what happened at the G7 Summit.
