In 1978, John Carpenter created what would go on to be considered the precursor to the “Slasher” film craze of the 1980’s, that creation being “Halloween”. This Horror Classic would serve as the template of many successful franchises, establishing some specific “rules” that would become staples in those films, and the sequels to this franchise as well. Using a small budget, limited means and a cast of relatively unknown actors, he created a tour de force with a faceless, stalking murderer who would forever be etched into the horror film annals of history.
