Balancing horror and comedy without morphing into camp is no easy feat, yet Ready or Not delivers laughs and thrills from beginning to end despite a simple premise. What could have been a shallow slasher film is elevated by a lack of dumb decisions by our heroine, complex supporting characters who refuse to be tired stereotypes, and moments of pure hilarity. It isn't often that Luke & Rachel give a wholehearted recommendation without caveats, but it's hard to imagine this most dangerous game being more entertaining than Ready or Not.
