The United States is doing \\u201cmore than the rest of the world combined\\u201d and will do more. But other wealthy countries must also step up.\\xa0Dr. Fauci remains worried that as the situation stabilizes the will to finance long-term capacities will fade. \\u201cWe have been to that movie before.\\u201d The decision to restore US membership in WHO \\u201cwas a big shot in the arm\\u201d for WHO, and WHO has done very well of late, particularly under the leadership of Dr. Tedros.\\xa0It is \\u201cabsolutely critical to develop a new d\\xe9tente with China\\u201d as well as with other countries in Asia where future viruses may also arise.\\xa0The Department of Defense has a critically important role to play in our response, in logistics and science.
