The two express their frustration and disappointment with nerd outrage. When a highly anticipated film comes out and it doesn't meet the expectations of the fans, there always seems to be a witch hunt for the filmmakers involved. Every adaptation is only that particular filmmaker's vision and take on the characters and lore. It is not definitive and should not determine your fandom for it. Find your own personal definitive take. There are many. Do you think fandom has gone too far? Do you think Martin Scorsese was right?
