Episode 033--Hang On Tight To Jesus

On this episode I share transparently about some pivotal things that happened to me in my childhood. I know when I am led to share certain aspects of what I went through and how God used it teach me, it is because someone, maybe even you, needs to hear this. And if this isn\\u2019t for you, it\\u2019s probably for a friend or family member so feel free to share this with them.

I talk about my mother\\u2019s emotional illness and her subsequent recovery that included a very dynamic change point for her. Before that, though, we all walked through some difficult issues with her. We had all been continually praying for her and watched as God began to lead her to recovery.

Her journey included her understanding that Jesus is her only answer and hanging on tight to Him was her only way of her issues to a better life with more stable emotions.\\xa0

Years after her death, God began to reveal to me my issue that was causing my extreme weight gain. I was a sugar addict. I owned that and surrendered it to God. But then I knew I was going to have to walk out my journey, which felt like an impossible task.

Then I began searching my mind for someone who had walked out their journey and remembered my mom. She had done it by hanging on as tight as she could to Jesus. I knew that was also my answer. After that God brought a mentor into my life to help guide me in how to do that.

After losing 250 pounds, Gal 5:1 TPT became a really important verse to me. \\u201cLet me be clear, the Anointed One has set us free\\u2014not partially, but completely and wonderfully free! We must always cherish this truth and stubbornly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.\\u201d

I used to stubbornly refuse to give up the foods I loved. But those foods had become a stronghold that held me in bondage. Now I am indeed stubborn about approaching anything that even looks or smells like it is going to put me back in bondage.

The best thing is, now I am completely free to follow wherever Jesus leads me. The devil may come knocking at my door, he may try to capture me in his sly schemes but nothing tastes as good as the freedom that Christ brings. Nothing!
