Light My Fire! (Bilingual) - Acts 2:1-11
The festival of Pentecost is an ancient Jewish harvest festival, much like our Thanksgiving Day in America. Yet, beginning with the Pentecost 50 days after Jesus rose from the dead, we as a Christian church gather to celebrate and give thanks for far more than a grain harvest. We gather to celebrate the extraordinary harvest of Christian souls the Holy Spirit brings in when he blows in on us and breathes the gospel into us and through us. This sermon is about kindling into a high flame the boiler of our hearts for our Christ-given mission of declaring the wonders of God in him.
