Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By \nno means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?\u201d \nRomans 6:1-2\n\n\u201cDo not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.\u201d Galatians 6:7-8\n\nConsequences of forgiven sin vs. unforgiven sin \n\n\u2022\tConsequences of unforgiven sin penalties: judgment \n\u2022\tConsequences of forgiven sin discipline: God\u2019s perfect work \n\nEndure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as His children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined\u2014and everyone undergoes discipline\u2014then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in His holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
