Subject:CINEMA #349 - "Critical Condition II: Is Traditional Critical Media Still Relevant?"

Published: April 22, 2012, 10:35 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in Subject:CINEMA, creeping closer and closer to SEVEN YEARS on the air! Yahoo!

Production problems continue to plague us, but we're trying to get there - even if I can't figure out why it's only our production program that's having a problem. Things have been HORRIBLE with this program, but we're chugging on...

THIS WEEK:

  • Our INDUSTRY INDEPTH II Series continues as we examine the backlash in recent months of traditional  film critics vs new media film critics - how things are changing and how they MUST stay the same, in "Critical Condition II: Is Traditional Critical Media Still Relevant?"
  • Plus a chock full back half this week that includes our Fethival Flash look at our picks for Tribeca and the Independent Film Festival of Boston
  • A combined Rising Star Update and Scream and Shout
  • This week's Bonehead Of The Week
  • We say goodbye to the legendary Dick Clark, plus remember two other passings
  • A Save Our Screens update, and a calendar update
  • Plus reviews of the Boston Underground Film Festival showing of MANBORG and one of the most anticipated indie films of the year, JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI

Check out Subject:CINEMA's brand new spinoff, Subject:CINEMA MICRO Focus, every Wednesday evening, 9 PM ET US!  It's a brand new show focusing on one film, backwards and forwards, up and down, front to back and side to side each week!

PLEASE NOTE: MIcro Focus is on a short hiatus and will return Wednesday May 9!

PLEASE NOTE NUMBER TWO - There will be NO edition of Subject:CINEMA next weekend (April 29) due to our coverage of the Independent Film Festival of Boston - SC will return with SC #350 on Sunday May 6 with our 2012 Summer Preview Blockbuster!
