Spe\u0301cial \xab An American holiday - The Fourth of July \xbb\n\n\nEvery year on the Fourth of July, Americans celebrate Independence Day, the day they won independence from England in 1776.\n\nTo celebrate, Americans have a picnic with family and friends.\n\nThey eat hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, watermelon and strawberry short cake for dessert. They also play games like egg in a spoon, a water balloon toss, a three-legged race and a potato sack race.\n\nAt night, everyone in the town gathers to watch fireworks.\n\n\nLet\u2019s explain the rules of the games:\n\n- Egg in a spoon\n\nYou put an egg in a spoon, you hold the spoon in your hand and you have to run to your partner without dropping the egg.\nWe call that game a relay race.\n\n- The three-legged race\n\nEveryone has a partner. They stand next to each other and tie their middle legs to- gether.\nThey race to the other side and back. The first couple wins the race.\n\n- Potato sack race\n\nEach person stands in a potato sack and hops to the other side and back.\nThe first person back wins.
