Baker's Dozen: The Geopolitics of the UK

Published: March 3, 2021, 6:19 p.m.

Welcome to Baker’s Dozen, a podcast series of monthly conversations about geopolitics from Stratfor, a RANE company. In this episode, host Rodger Baker speaks with Geoff Sloan, an Associate Professor at the University of Reading and the UK coordinator of the Mackinder Forum about the geopolitics of the United Kingdom, or UK.

Brexit has challenged the European Union’s narrative of deeper integration as a model for future globalism, and re-awoken tensions within the United Kingdom, with renewed calls for a Scottish independence referendum and the revival of the “Irish question.” At the same time, there remain unanswered questions on the economic impact on both sides of the Channel.
