While this episode may not be the longest, we take the listeners on an adventure in education in ancient Libya. It was hard for us to find stories in Libya that were not about the relatively recent civil war and the horrible things that happened before and during it and neither one of us wanted to talk about such a dark and serious subject without intentionally making the entire episode dark and serious.
Also to set the record straight: Glass as an independent object (mostly as beads) dates back to about 2500 bc. It originated perhaps in Mesopotamia and was brought later to Egypt. Vessels of glass appeared about 1450 bc, during the reign of Thutmose III, a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of Egypt.
