Crossing Relationship\\nBorders\\xa0

Kim Bell has crossed many borders in her life. She is\\nan Australian who is married to an American she met while in the\\nPhilippines and who currently lives in Canada. Both of her\\nhusbands, previous and current, had children before she married\\nthem. She doesn\\u2019t have any offspring. This in combination with her\\nbeing a Senior Attorney gives her a unique perspective when\\ndiscussing love, marriage, divorce, the law and more love.

There is a history and a dynamic that exists between\\na parent and a child, which affects a parent\\u2019s new relationship\\nwith someone else. Four months after Kim started dating PJ, she\\nmade it clear to his daughter that she didn\\u2019t intend to take the\\nplace of her mother but she would be there for her whenever she\\nneeded to talk and she also made it clear to the mother that she\\nwould never try to replace her. This allowed for a free and open\\nrelationship to grow amongst them all.

The Good Thing about Getting\\nOlder

It takes time for women to figure out who they are,\\nwhat is important to them and most importantly what they decide\\nthey will no longer accept in their lives. Once we are well into\\nour 40\\u2019s we know ourselves better and we are finally settling into\\nbeing happy with who we are. In Kim\\u2019s own words, \\u201cIt\\u2019s beneficial\\nto learn lessons the hard way because that way we don\\u2019t have to\\nlearn the same lesson twice\\u201d and \\u201cThis is another precious day in\\nyour life you will never get back again. Love yourself and love the\\npeople around you. Life is a gift.\\u201d

It\\u2019s important to take time between relationships to\\nfigure things out. If you spend some time alone to get the rest of\\nyour life in order, it really helps you to love someone because you\\nlove them not because you need them.

Want to know what\\u2019s a hard thing to do? Talking with\\nyour fianc\\xe9 about individual assets before you even get married,\\nbut it needs to be done. It needs to be out in the open a few\\nmonths before you tie the knot. It doesn\\u2019t have to be a prenuptial\\nagreement but you should at least have a will in place in case of\\nan emergency. Wills are described as living documents because they\\ncan be changed when life changes. Legal documents offer protection\\nfor spouses and children alike. Dividing up assets does not have to\\nbe confrontational.\\xa0\\n\\xa0

Money should be the last reason you stay in a\\nmarriage you are not happy in. It\\u2019s a recipe for being\\nmiserable.\\xa0
