Barbara was born into a family of storytellers.  Initially, she found it challenging to find the courage to put her own stories out into the world.  Barbara found the courage to believe that she could be a writer and that her stories were worth telling.  She shares the following nuggets of life wisdom:

• choose resilience and love
• write what we know
• it's never too late to make a dream come true
• take a risk
• producing art is an intensive form of self-help
• believe in our dreams
• help others to tell their stories
• trust that we'll have what it takes
• be kind to ourselves
