Mike\\u2019s first drink came when he was 12 or 13 years old.\\xa0 He had no hobbies, played no school sports, and had friends who in retrospect he calls \\u201cderelicts.\\u201d\\xa0 Mike follows his friends\\u2019 lead, drinking and abusing whatever drugs they could find.\\xa0 It didn\\u2019t take long for him to learn where to score drugs, and as a teenager with a driver license he could easily do it.\\xa0 By seventeen, his family forced him into a detox program for alcohol, but he secretly hid his drug use in order to avoid treatment for it.\\xa0 After high school, Mike could barely stay in college, barely keep a job, crashed automobiles and wound up in trouble with the law.\\xa0 Mike couldn\\u2019t even stay clean while attempting pre-trial intervention.
