Ep. 15: Connecticut Treasurer Shawn Wooden Wants To Turn Tragedy Into Purpose On Wall Street

Published: June 3, 2020, 4 a.m.

State Treasurer Shawn Wooden was born and raised in Hartford. He's seen firsthand how systemic racism limits access to housing, education and opportunity in Connecticut's cities. Police shootings of unarmed men and high rates of police stops of people of color in the suburbs aren't just news reports or statistics for him. "This is the America I know," he tells John Dankosky on "Steady Habits" this week. "And this America continues to scare me." He's advocating for corporate America to take on racism, and he's using his position as an investor of state money to do so.
