Episode 32: Ada McCartney

Published: Oct. 25, 2017, 4:59 p.m.

Poet and performer Ada McCartney told me she's firm believer in Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed. But the only thing getting oppressed in our conversation was some tasty Picazzo's pizza! (ed: find a new joke)

We spoke about performing your work against performing someone else's, being onstage alone, and why I will now never get a slam poet on the show.

You can keep up with Ada's work by following her on Facebook.

Wish her luck on her upcoming Work In Progress show of a new one-woman performance she is developing through Nuebox. It goes up November 27 at the Mesa Arts Center for an invited audience.

Ada is currently working with Arizona School for the Arts. Find ways to support their young artists at goasa.org
