But in between those two events, he sat in a hotel room eating vanilla ice cream with Jim Brown, Sam Cooke, and Malcolm X. In his play One Night in Miami..., Star Trek: Discovery writer Kemp Powers explore what may have happened in that room.

In this episode of Stage Nine, Mike and John take a look at the script for One Night in Miami.... We discuss the unique premise, the presentation of historical icons as real people, and how it compares to other fictional works featuring these characters.
