So it’s a confirmed fact that The Black Phone (2022) is *not* scarier than Top Gun: Maverick, but it might be a contender for most depressing movie of the year. On this week’s Spooky Tuesday, we’re venturing back out to the theater for a film that features Ethan Hawke as a makeup-loving magician, child stars saying copious curse words, and a group of youths chanting “Bruce! Bruce! Bruce!” \\xe0 la Matilda. A new release that throws it back to the ‘70s, this Joe Hill adaptation is helping us push our Ghost Whisperer/Mediator series agenda.
