This was a rebroadcast of an interview with Boston-based animator, Karen Aqua.\\xa0Karen died May 30, 2011 at the age\\xa0of 57.

\\n

Since 1976,\\xa0Karen\\xa0created animated films exploring the themes of ritual, journeys, transformation, and the human\\xa0spirit. Much of her work reflects an interest in symbols, mythology, and prehistoric and tribal cultures, and includes\\xa0elements of rhythm, dance, and music.

\\n

Karen\'s award-winning films have been screened nationally and internationally, at film festivals, museums, and universities.\\xa0Aqua\\u2019s animation appears regularly on Sesame Street.

\\n

Just before her death, Karen completed her final work Taxonomy which premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art in\\xa0Boston.\\xa0
