Naming Ceremony

"What is in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet?" The quote is a famous line from Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," but is the lovestruck 13 year old Juliet right in her assessment? Certainly, insofar as a name shouldn't be the cause of the unwarranted prejudice as we see that it is in that play.  However names do have power, as words do, and they can call forth something new in us. So what happens when God gives someone a new name?  What does that mean? What does that mean for us today? Most importantly, what does the act of changing someone's name tell us about the nature of God?
