1. Temptation Doesn't Come From God - It Comes From Unsubmitted Desires! James 1:13-16 (TPT)  When you are tempted don’t ever say, God is tempting me, For God is incapable of being tempted by evil and He is never the source of temptation. 14 Instead it is each person’s own desires and thoughts [Lust: passionate longings] that [entice them] drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. 15 Evil desires [Lust: passionate longings] give birth to evil actions [sin]. And when sin is fully mature [allowed to grow] it can murder you! 16 So my friends, don’t be fooled by your own desires. 2. You Have To Master Your Desires!   1 John 2:15-17  (NSAB)  Do not love [agapao] the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves [agapao] the world, the love [agape] of the Father is not in him. A. The Lust of the Flesh:   a craving for physical pleasure B. The Lust of the Eyes:   a craving for everything we see C. The Boastful Pride of Life: pride in our achievements and possessions 3. The Only Way To Master Your Desires Is To Submit Them To The Word of God! James 1:22 (NLT) Don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. [you delude and betray yourself into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. Hebrews 4:12 [AMP]  For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and [all] effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, [g1366 di-stomos: double-mouthed] penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
