By God’s design - People Need People. Offenses Cause A Disconnect in Relationships Matthew 18:7 (NKJV) Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must [will] come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! Matthew 16:23 (NASB)  Jesus said to Peter, Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block [an offense] to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's. God Wants Us To Learn To Live Above Offense! 1. Void of offense toward God. Luke 7:23 (NASB) Blessed is he who does not take offense at Me   2. Void of offense toward Men. Luke 17:3-5 (NASB) Be on your guard! If your brother sins [offends you], rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins  against you [offends you] seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent, 'forgive him." 5 The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith. Jesus was teaching us to live with an attitude of forgiveness. 1. We Offend With Our Words  2. We Offend With Our Actions Mark 7:20-21 says, “Words and deeds pollute a person… Evil originates from inside a person and come out of the human heart…”   Offenses Bring Contention But Love Creates Connection 1. We Love With Our Words  2. We Love By Our Actions 1 Peter 3:8-9 (TPT) This is the goal: to live in harmony with one another and demonstrate affectionate love, sympathy, and kindness toward other believers. Let humility describe who you are as you dearly love one another. 9 Never retaliate when someone treats you wrongly, nor insult those who insult you, but instead, respond by speaking a blessing over them - because a blessing is what God promised to give you.
