Ephesians 5:1 (NLT) Imitate God in everything you do [AMP - copy Him and follow His example] because you are his dear children. (MSG) Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. [TPT - ...then you will represent your Father as His beloved sons and daughters.]   Children learn behavior patterns [good and bad] from watching their parents.  Sons of God learn kingdom behavior from witnessing the perfect example of their Heavenly Father. To imitate God is a command and empowerment! Independent: thinking or acting for oneself, not subject to another. Interdependent: mutually dependent on each other. God wants to do a unique work in you but you have to be willing to be one with Him 1 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT) The person who is joined [gkallao: to unite, to knit or weld, mingle or join together, to make two into one] to the Lord is one spirit with Him.   2 Corinthians 3:18 (AMP) All of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever-increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.   The more you behold Him, the more you will become like Him! Romans 8:14-16 (NASB) All who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons [from two greek words 1. huiothesia from huios - complete and 2. tithemi: to place - The placing as a son] by which we cry out, " Abba! Father!" 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of [one with] God. (MSG) 16 God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children. 1 John 4:18-19 (NASB) There is no fear [g5401 phobos: to be put to flight, panic, terror] in [the] love; but [the] perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves [Lit. has] punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in [the] love. 19 We [we] love [Him], because He [He] first loved us. Jeremiah 23:9-24 (NASB) Thus says the Lord, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the Lord.
