Today, we have a very special episode with Leigh Kohler. Leigh is the co-founder and Executive Director of Freedom Church Alliance. Freedom Church Alliance exists to engage the Church as a unified, collaborative body to make a greater impact in the anti-human trafficking movement. Leigh sits down to talk to us about the basics of where to start in the awareness of human trafficking. I want to start out with a couple of definitions of human trafficking. According to the US Department of State, human trafficking is the act of recruiting, transporting, providing or obtaining a person for compelled labor or commercial sex acts through the use of force, fraud, or coercion. Dictionary Defined- it is organized criminal activity in which human beings are treated as possessions to be controlled and exploited (as by being forced into prostitution or involuntary labor). I hope this episode shows you how relevant Human Trafficking is in our society today and how important it is for us as a body of Christ to ending slavery in our lifetime.
