A faithful listener posed a question he had from a piece of Scripture I had never paid attention to before. \\xa0WHEW was it interesting. \\xa0 Has to do with Moses, his wife Zipporah, circumcision, covenants, duties, race, and the wrath of God. \\xa0Let me know what you think.

Exodus 4:

^21\\xa0The Lord said to Moses, \\u201cWhen you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. ^22\\xa0Then say to Pharaoh, \\u2018This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son, ^23\\xa0and I told you, \\u201cLet my son go, so he may worship me.\\u201d But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.\\u2019\\u201d

^24\\xa0At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses^[b] and was about to kill him. ^25\\xa0But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son\\u2019s foreskin and touched Moses\\u2019 feet with it.^[c] \\u201cSurely you are a bridegroom of blood to me,\\u201d she said. ^26\\xa0So the Lord let him alone. (At that time she said \\u201cbridegroom of blood,\\u201d referring to circumcision.)
