122- The Importance of Worship

Psalm 92:1-4, "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Thy name, O Most High; 2To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness by night, 3With the ten-stringed lute, and with the harp; with resounding music upon the lyre. 4For Thou, O Lord, hast made me glad by what Thou hast done, I will sing for joy at the works of Thy hands.

What is worship? Who are we worshipping?

Why are we worshipping God.

Different kinds of music The devil is in the details (music)

I challenge you to be participants in worship, not consumers. To come ready to engage with God for yourselves, from the heart, not just watch with your eyes.

I want you to come as worshipers, not as concert-goers. We all need a soul check. “Let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall” (1 Corinthians 10:12). We’re so easily distracted from the main things — especially from the main person, Jesus.

The focus of worship is God.
