Dealing with Church Hurt with Brooke Martin

Published: March 18, 2021, 9 a.m.

I am PASSIONATE about the local church, and the people who are a part of it. As Brooke so eloquently puts it, "Where there are people, there are problems." With so many differing personalities and backgrounds with people who make up the church, at some point, individuals will probably experience some kind of conflict.

How do you respond when you feel hurt or your expectations aren't by people in the church?

Brooke and I are talking all about the  practical next steps to take to move past bitterness and to enjoy the church the way Jesus intended!

About Brooke Martin:
Brooke is from Manila, Arkansas (population: 3,278). She graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, MO with a degree in Biblical Studies & minors in Church Leadership & Music. Brooke is an avid couponer, loves eating sushi, is always singing, & enjoys cooking!

In college, she realized that the reason that there are still unreached people in the world is because the Church hasn't been following Jesus’ plan of generational discipleship. She realized that Chi Alpha Campus Ministries disciples students better than any organization that she had heard of & because of this, she devoted her life to it.

Brooke is an ordained minister & has been serving alongside her husband as a US Missionary for 6 years. They are now lead directors of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries at The University of Tennessee.
