After the case was deemed unwinnable and turned away by major law firms, Jim single-handedly fought for justice and became the first and only lawyer in American history to successfully prosecute a chemical company for causing a birth defect.

The Castillo-vs.-DuPont case goes down in history as the first and one of the most important of it\\u2019s kind because it set the precedent for stricter environmental laws and the questionable use of the \\u201cjunk science defense\\u201d in the courtroom.
