International Women's Day: The Radical Jewish Women of London’s East End

Published: March 7, 2014, 8:16 p.m.

For International Women's Day 2014 join Olivia Winters as she sits down with David Rosenberg, founder of East End Walks. Rosenberg, a native to the famous East End of London specialises in organising historical walks of the area. Listen in as Rosenberg brings to life the radical Jewish immigrant women who lived in this area from the late 1880's to the 1930's. Their everyday lives in their workplaces and in their homes became the platforms on which they engaged in struggles for political and social equality. Join us as Rosenberg helps us to explore these otherwise uncelebrated anarchists, suffragettes and health pioneers of London’s East End.
