We were joined by its creator, Zachary Nagy, who rounded up some fellow divers from the Arizona Scuba Diving community to plant Jason at the bottom of Lake Pleasant. The crew took great care in the construction of the statue ensuring that all materials used were environmentally friendly. After the intriguing underwater creation was discovered by many divers, the story went viral. Once the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department caught wind of the news, they immediately disapproved and criticized the statue claiming it was against park rules as being "trash" or "obnoxious material". Officials are actively searching for the Jason Voorhees statue in order to discard of it completely. We\'ve pledged a petition against the decision and are taking a stand with Zach in favor of keeping this piece of art submerged as it does not raise any cause for concern for the public or divers. The underwater Jason Voorhees statue was not only made with great consideration for the environment but was a labor or love for the character and genre.
