Fraser Maclean grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. Trained by Scottish Film Training Trust as a live-action film editor, 1983-84. Moved to London in 1985. Worked for Sands Films for two years before breaking into animation by joining Disney UK to work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). Went on to work for Passion Pictures in London as an EFX Animator. Head of Training for Cambridge Animation Systems from 1993 to 1994. Worked for Telemagination in London in 1995 before moving out to Los Angeles to work on Space Jam (1996) and then on Disney\'s Tarzan (1999).
