On this episode, Stuart is joined by Arjun Tambe, who is one of a group of researchers in Stanford University, who are working on the Augmented Cane. The Augmented cane uses sensors to detect obstacles. It guides the user away from obstacles, including those at head height and hazards on the ground. A wheel steers the user along the safest route.
