Stockholm Syndrome refers to a condition often found in people who have been kidnapped or held hostage. Victims often develop a fondness for or devotion to their captors. For many in the church, their love is not for the God of the church as it is so much for the church itself, or even the church leadership. The god of the church is not the focus of their affection, but rather those who have led them into a state of bondage based on fear and devoid of a knowledge of the love and grace of God.
