Timothy P. Carney is the senior political columnist at the Washington Examiner and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. Mr. Carney\\u2019s latest book, \\u201cAlienated America: Why Some Places Thrive While Others Collapse\\u201d (HarperCollins), was published in February 2019. His previous books include \\u201cObamanomics: How Barack Obama Is Bankrupting You and Enriching His Wall Street Friends, Corporate Lobbyists, and Union Bosses\\u201d (Regnery Publishing, 2009) and \\u201cThe Big Ripoff: How Big Business and Big Government Steal Your Money\\u201d (John Wiley & Sons, 2006), which was awarded the 2008 Culture of Enterprise award by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.
