Kangol Kid is 1/4 of UTFO; an old-school hip-hop group from Brooklyn, New York. UTFO consisted of Kangol Kid, Educated Rapper, Doctor Ice, and Mix Master Ice. The group's best known single is "Roxanne Roxanne" a hip-hop classic that added shape to a culture that was on the verge of exploding.

Unfortunately, Kangol Kid died on Saturday morning at a hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., on Long Island. He was 55. The cause was complications of colon cancer.

This interview with Kangol Kid was previously recorded and reimagined to pay homage to a hip hop icon who will be missed. Rest in peace, King!
