Hawaiians and Hawaiians at heart have been witnessing an event on Hawaii Island on Mauna Kea.

\\nThe construction of a Thirty Millimeter Telescope has captured the attention of the world as groups of Native Hawaiians have gathered to protect the mountain. Their position is that the mountain is culturally and religiously sacred and that no more construction should occur. The Hawaii state government has positioned itself firmly on the side of the construction leading to conflict and confrontation with the Protectors.

\\nWhile this issue has many proponents for and against the construction, Sandwich Islands Network has been tracking this since 2015 with interviews of individuals close to the what is taking place.
