A Rural Ice Cream Shop with Wanda Backus

Published: Sept. 23, 2021, 6:05 a.m.

This week I chat with Wanda Backus. Wanda is a Pierce County resident and owner of J’s Place.

Wanda grew up on a dairy farm. She worked along side her brothers and parents on both the farm and later in the ice cream shop they owned in Dodge, Nebraska.

Fast forward a few years and a few careers, and Wanda now owns J’s Place is an ice cream and hamburger shop located in Pierce, Nebraska.
