They can support 250 pounds of weight and look great.\\n* Call them BALANCE bars, not grab bars. Our aging population doesn\\u2019t like these old sounding words.\\n* Easy things to do related to lighting:\\n\\n* LED lighting on railings help.\\n* Toe kicks can help.\\n* Motion sensor lights help to raise our consciousness.\\n* Motion sensor lights help us see where to put our feet and help reduce falls.\\n\\n\\n* Add railings to hallways above the wainscoting.\\n* Look ahead 6 months to see what needs to be done.\\n* Smart soles are shoe inserts that work with an alert system.\\n* Change lighting to reduce glare.\\n* Cover or remove mirrors and reflective surfaces.\\n* Remove family photos and replace them with pictures of flowers and landscaping.\\n* Remove busy patterns on walls floors and furniture.\\n* Use color to differentiate items such as plastic glasses and plates.\\n* Be conscious of odors and sharp sounds.
