Welcome to This Edition of RiversZen Today for Wednesday, November 14th, 2018

The news of the day: Don’t forget, we are looking forward to hearing about our anniversary gift through the end of the month. Hearing about how you are going to be reading labels and cleaning up your eating program. David, Kim, Pink and I share RiversZen with you because we don’t want to take the same path as David’s and my parents or Kim’s grandparents and Pink’s parents are still alive. We have learned a great deal over the 22 years we have been together, and we want to share that with you. We don’t want you to feel as bad as we did in our 40’s and 50’s. Today’s hint is about bone broth. You can get it dried or in liquid form or you can make it yourself. Here is a quote from Amanda Love’s book, The Barefoot Cook.

“In order to get started on belly fat loss right away, I recommend incorporating bone broth into one’s diet. Excess belly fat and a puffy, distended abdomen are often a result of leaky gut syndrome. Leaky gut results from stress, poor digestion, lack of adequate hydrochloric acid, antibiotics, sugar, chemicals, poor food and more. When we have leaky gut, we are in a constant inflammatory state because many of the foods we eat cause an inflammatory reaction. These inflammatory reactions shoot up our cortisol, stimulate our adrenals into overdrive, negatively affect our thyroid, and prevent us from losing weight. What helps to heal the leaky gut is broth made from slowly simmering bones and meat. Broth is full of minerals, gelatin, proline, glycine and glutamine—all nutrients that help to heal and seal the gut lining and reverse leaky gut. In addition, it is simply nourishing and delicious.”

It’s easy to add to your diet. Whether dried or in liquid form, bone broth can easily be added to any food you are preparing or can be added to any drink or smoothie. A very simple addition to your eating program that can be very beneficial.
