Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 2, episode 17, “Passion”:

-Synopsis

-Newbie reactions: Kristen and Mitch both found the big death abrupt.

-Angel\'s monologue about passion narrating the episode: Love it or hate it?

-Should Buffy tell Joyce about the supernatural threat?

-Does not telling Joyce put her in danger that she wouldn\'t be in otherwise?

-Buffy and Joyce: Is Joyce trying not to be a helicopter parent or does she just not try?

-Jenny and Giles are so, so close to happiness...and then Angel rips it away.

-The scene in Giles\' apartment is so beautifully disturbing.

-When Willow cries, we cry. This episode definitely instigated a few teary eyes.

-Angel is blissfully happy at the same time and it\'s so incredibly creepy.

-Are we all equally emotionally invested in this episode?

-The floppy disk gives us hope despite so many other hopes being dashed.

-We are focused on everyone\'s reactions to Jenny\'s death, rather than the event itself.

-Giles the badass and his need for vengeance.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 2, episode 18, “Killed by Death”:

-Synopsis

-Newbie reactions: Kristen was scarred forever by the creepy guy and Mitch was creeped out by the eye suckers.

-This is a skippable episode for Selina, while Karen tries to convince us that it has its own merits.

-The lack of Angelus might be one reason we don\'t love this episode as much.

-The creepy guy is very Freddy Krueger-esque.

-Cordelia and Xander have a moment, and she calls him out on his Buffy fixation.

-Xander and Cordelia are truly starting to care for each other, and that changes things.

-Cordelia is slowly being unveiled as a vital part of the Scooby gang. She is really into this now.

-Selina fills in a gap that was puzzling Kristen.

-The Scooby gang killed this villain differently from how they\'ve gone at it before.
