Banterknob

Be warned, this episode contains explicit content! Former Hollyoaks actor, Celeb Love Island and Big Brother contestant Paul Danan joins Jamie to talk about his experiences on Big Brother. It’s a show of two halves as they tackle serious issues raised by this year's series as well as lighter topics such as Love Island sex acts. Paul chats about farting camera operators, dealing with addiction in the public eye and the impact reality TV had on his career in one no-holds barred chat. The subject matter gets weighty today as Paul reveals what it feels like when fame becomes intrusive and ‘too much’. Then the conversation turns towards Roxanne Pallett: Is enough, enough? Jamie and Paul speculate on what Roxanne's dealing with after leaving the Big Brother house and ask where we should draw the line on the commentary around contestants potentially struggling with mental health and vulnerability in the public eye. Paul makes the point that big accusations raise important public questions and public reactions are important in shaping wider standards, as well as listener’s reactions to it’s context in light of the #metoo movement They also talk about Jermaine's surprise eviction and the Big Brother production team’s return to form. Paul is honest as always about his decision not to back Jermaine and the pair discuss the football star’s behaviour throughout the series. Paul also coins our phrase of the week: #Banterknob and shares hilarious stories from his wild time on Love Island.
