Born in Decatur, GA and into a preacher\\u2019s family, she realized her creative side at a young age by creating stories and songs at the age of 8. \\nIn 2008, Yakiri found herself at a crossroads with her career. Soon after, she became reacquainted with what came natural, which was writing. Within months, her first novel, "Black Socialite" was written followed by "Too Far to Turn Back: Tales of a Preachers Kid." With several other novels in the works, her new career as an author has now begun. \\nYakiri is an advocate for Alzheimer\'s Research.
