Celebrate the Holy Spirit in You

After Moses complained how hard it was to lead the Israelites, the Lord told him He would “take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them” referring to 70 elders [Numbers 11:17]. At the Lord’s instruction, Moses called for the elders. Then God did as He promised.  When Joshua expresses alarm that two of the elders are prophesying among the people, Moses says, in effect, “My wildest dream is that the Lord would put his Spirit on all of His people” [Numbers 11:29]. What a wild dream, indeed! Of course, that dream came true on the day of Pentecost. As we read in Acts 2, every true follower of Jesus Christ—both men and women, young and old—received the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence for life. What a tremendous gift that every Christian receives from God the Father and His Son, Jesus. I’m so very glad that the blessed Holy Spirit resides in each and every believer [Romans 8:9].  He teaches us, guides us, warns us, fills our hearts with love and joy and peace.  In fact, 1 Corinthians 6 says we become the temple of the living God. What a tremendous gift, indeed! And people need to know about Him. This is Luis Palau.
