b'Camp Nooteeming in Pleasant Valley has been serving the scouting community for 91 years, but newly arrived Scout Executive/CEO for the Hudson Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America, David Horton, recognized that the Camp is in serious need of renovation to become a resident camp. Volunteer Dave Petrovich has taken charge of the project. Together for a joint interview on RadioRotary, they describe plans to set up camping centers for specific topics, events, and skills, including centers devoted to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics); shooting sports; the environment; crafts; and more. Scouts, including Cub Scouts as young as age 5 and Girl Scouts, will use the renovated facilities along with other community groups. In an interesting sidelight, Program Co-Host Jonah Triebwasser tells about how Rotary and scouting have been linked since the earliest days of both service organizations.\\n\\n--- \\n\\nSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/radiorotary/support'
