Sodom & Gomorrah Isaiah 1:10-18

b'This passage has some pretty harsh words for Sodom \\u2014 but they aren\\u2019t what you might expect \\u2014 and ends with a popular verse about red sins being washed white as snow\\u2026 that also has a twist you haven\\u2019t heard about.\\nIsaiah 1:10-18\\n\\nHear the word of the Lord,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0you rulers of Sodom;\\nlisten to the instruction of our God,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0you people of Gomorrah!\\n\\u201cThe multitude of your sacrifices\\u2014\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0what are they to me?\\u201d says the Lord.\\n\\u201cI have more than enough of burnt offerings,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0of rams and the fat of fattened animals;\\nI have no pleasure\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.\\nWhen you come to appear before me,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0who has asked this of you,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0this trampling of my courts?\\nStop bringing meaningless offerings!\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Your incense is detestable to me.\\nNew Moons, Sabbaths and convocations\\u2014\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0I cannot bear your worthless assemblies.\\n\\xa0Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0I hate with all my being.\\nThey have become a burden to me;\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0I am weary of bearing them.\\n\\xa0When you spread out your hands in prayer,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0I hide my eyes from you;\\neven when you offer many prayers,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0I am not listening.\\n\\n\\nYour hands are full of blood!\\n\\n\\n\\xa0Wash and make yourselves clean.\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Take your evil deeds out of my sight;\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0stop doing wrong.\\n\\xa0Learn to do right; seek justice.\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Defend the oppressed.\\nTake up the cause of the fatherless;\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0plead the case of the widow.\\n\\n\\n\\u201cCome now, let us settle the matter,\\u201d\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0says the Lord.\\n\\u201cThough your sins are like scarlet,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0they shall be as white as snow;\\nthough they are red as crimson,\\n\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0they shall be like wool.\\n\\nThe post Sodom & Gomorrah \\u2013 Isaiah 1:10-18 appeared first on Queer Theology.'
