Part 1: When Paul entered the city of Corinth as recorded in Acts chapter 18, he had hit a low point emotionally.\\xa0 He had been forced out of previous towns before he could solidify the new believers there.\\xa0 He had been dismissed as a fool in Athens.\\xa0 \\xa0 \\xa0 And now he enters the city of Corinth, the "sin city" of the ancient world.\\xa0 The whole place was given over to sexual immorality. \\xa0

He had to have wondered if he was just throwing seed into the wind trying to share Jesus Christ there.\\xa0 But God stepped in and gave him 5 gifts of encouragement to carry him over the tide of his malaise.\\xa0 And God offers those same 5 gifts to every Christian when they are depressed.
